Optimus Steel, TX orders new Gas Coupler System from INTECO PTI

INTECO PTI received the order for a ladle Gas Coupling system from Optimus Steel USA (formerly Gerdau Beaumont), TX.

The system will consist of 3 basic (lower) sets for the 1 EAF turret and 2 LRF turrets as well as 6 ladle (upper) sets that will equip the entire ladle fleet in the meltshop. The order includes Engineering, installation supervision and start-up.

SSAB Mobile, AL orders Carbon Injection revamp from INTECO PTI

SSAB Mobile, AL has awarded INTECO PTI with the revamp of their existing Carbon Injection pressure vessels. The entire package consists of engineering, project management, start up and on-site fabrication and commissioning of the entire pipework, controls and all electrical parts.

JSW Mingo Junction orders Lime Injection System from Inteco PTI

JSW Mingo Junction located in Mingo Junction, OH has ordered a lime injection system for their Consteel EAF from Inteco PTI. The entire package consists of engineering, project management, start up and commissioning for the project, two (2) 350 cuft injection vessels, two fully equipped material storage silos as well as necessary equipment to transport the lime from the silos to the furnace.

The installation of PTI’s lime injection system is expected to reduce lime consumption, improve shop cleanliness and increase control over the slag chemistry.

Ternium Planta Puebla orders Swing Door

In September 2018 Inteco PTI received an order from Ternium for the equipment supply, start up and commissioning of a Swing Door technology package for their EAF at the Planta Puebla location.

This specific Swing Door will work combined with a slag door cleaning device and remove the operator completely from the slag door area and the furnace platform.

In addition to this, the Swing Door will help improve foamy slag control by keeping the slag door closed for almost the entire heat.  The slag door will only be opened for temperature / steel samples and de-slagging. By keeping the slag door closed, less energy is lost, less carbon is consumed, and more yield is conserved. The equipment is scheduled to be delivered and started up early in 2019.
