Gallatin SwingDoor

Process Technology International LLC has installed their SwingDoor system at Gallatin Steel.  The SwingDoor is designed to eliminate the pushing of scrap at the slag door during melting.  Gallatin Steel, who produce thin strip hot and cold rolled steel, has installed a SwingDoor on both shells of their twin shell EAF.   The SwingDoor allows the operator to control the flow of slag out of the EAF during melting, and can reduce carbon consumption and improve yield.
